Kenyatta University Bookshop opened its doors on 7th March, 2011 in a colorful function presided over by Professor James Ole Kiyiapi, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education.

With a vision of becoming the bookshop of choice in the eastern Africa Region, Kenyatta University Bookshop aims at promoting academic and professional advancement and the general reading culture by providing relevant and affordable information resources.

Book Stock

The Bookshop is well stocked with affordable books sourced from all over the world. It offers a unique blend of information resources that cuts across the university curriculum and other tertiary institutions. It is a one stop shopping unit for those looking for affordable books – academic, general reading, reference and motivational/inspirational. A section is also reserved for those “collectors” of classics and the children can also pick their preferred ‘readers’ at the ‘Children’s’ corner.

For those in specialized areas like organic farming, event management and hospitality, the bookshop has a variety of information resources in these areas.

Also available on our special collection shelf, are unique titles like – Build-operate-transfer, Telemedicine, carbon trading, Green consumerism, industry – Academic interface, Ethics in organ transplantation, ethno medicine etc.

Academics will be pleased to see the rich collection of research books that the bookshop is offering both general and in specific disciplines and those undertaking business related courses have a wide selection to choose from.

Education, engineering, ICT, psychology, counseling, medical sciences, applied and all other sciences are also well represented.

Other than selling on the shop floor, the university Bookshop also caters for the needs of those customers who may need to buy in bulk, e.g. sourcing for books from all over the world for libraries and other institutions and delivering the same.

Business Hours

The bookshop is open from 8.00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday and 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturdays.
